Building Relationships
We find it imperative to build relationships in the community to find out how we can fill the gaps in making sure the youth is exposed to the education that will prepare them for the real-world.
Making it Relatable
Retention is the key for learners to implement what they learn. Making financial literacy fun, interactive and relatable will increase the probability of implementing what is learned.
In the state of Texas, High Schools are not required to have a stand-alone financial literacy course for students. According to an articles on Visual Capitalist (2022), there is only 2.2% of students are required to take a personal financial literacy course that is required for students to take before graduating (Ross, J. (2022). This means that not all students are exposed to knowledge and tools to prepare for the next chapter of their lives after high school.
