The Billy Lee Tyler Scholarship Fund was created in memory of Billy Lee Tyler, the late father of Resile One Foundation’s founder, who passed away in 2007. Billy’s life was a testament to resilience. As a single father battling cancer, he experienced the challenges of balancing financial responsibility, family, and health. Despite these obstacles, he remained deeply committed to ensuring that his family—and future generations—would understand the importance of education, financial stability, and perseverance.

Billy believed that strong financial decision-making starts at a young age. He often emphasized the value of education, not just as a pathway to a career, but as a foundation for lifelong stability and independence. His passion for financial literacy and guidance continues to inspire the work of the Resile One Foundation today.

Through the scholarship named in his honor, Resile One provides financial support to students who demonstrate resilience, academic dedication, and a commitment to building a secure future. The fund helps students pursue their educational and professional goals, ensuring they have the resources and encouragement to thrive despite obstacles.

Impact Goals of the Scholarship Fund:

Award annual scholarships to students pursuing higher education or professional certification programs.

Prioritize students who display resilience in overcoming adversity and who embody the values of responsibility, perseverance, and leadership.
Equip recipients with not only financial aid, but also access to resources and mentorship in financial literacy.
Over five years, award at least 25 scholarships, creating a growing network of alumni who embody Billy’s legacy.

Thank you for your interest in the Billy Lee Tyler Scholarship Fund, a scholarship program of the Resile One Foundation.

The Billy Lee Tyler Scholarship was established to recognize and support students who have participated in an Earn Up Academy workshop and are committed to continuing their education or career journey after high school. Deserving recipients will be awarded a $500 scholarship to help offset educational or career-related expenses.

Please complete this application in its entirety. Be sure to answer all required questions thoughtfully and honestly. Incomplete applications or applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a graduating high school senior.
Must have participated in at least one Earn Up Academy workshop.
Must plan to attend a college, university, trade or technical school, certification program, or enlist in the military after graduation.
Must submit all required application materials by the application deadline.
