PATRICIA SIMON

We are proud to announce that Patricia Simon has been recognized as the 2023 Resile One Community Service Award Recipient.

PATRICIA SIMON

Patricia Simon has consistently demonstrated extraordinary support for The Resile One Foundation. Her contributions have enabled us to fulfill our mission of serving communities in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Patricia shared more about herself in an interview.

I am a native of New Orleans, La., born the only daughter of six siblings. Having been reared in the deep south during the 1950’s-70’s, I am no stranger to difficult times. Therefore, I developed a strong work ethic at an early age. I have lived in the DFW area intermittently for 26 years; from 1978 after marriage, presently, permanently transplanted after Katrina.

Currently, I am a retired American Airlines Professional of 29+ years. During my tenure, I have had the opportunity to wear many hats, for which I am truly thankful. My career afforded my family a fairly comfortable lifestyle enabling me to support my mother, son and myself. However, I vividly remember the struggles of my childhood, therefore, I remain compassionate towards the needs of others.

“It is my belief that I am blessed to be a blessing”, so I remain open for divine direction for ways to touch
the lives of others. My passion is serving the homeless, downtrodden and those who are disenfranchised
with whom I am willing to share of my resources. My faith in Jesus Christ constrains me to always
consider the less fortunate and realize, “But for the grace of God, there go I”.

I am fortunate to have Yolanda Tyler as my neighbor. I am convinced that she is my “angel” sent from
God. She has a heart of gold, and is the most sharing, and caring young lady I have met in a long time.
Years ago, I reached out to the community regarding donations for the Women’s and Children’s Shelter of
Fort Worth; she was the first to generously respond.

I have observed her give furniture, “Feed the Need”, provide snacks to college, secondary, high school
students, and faculty, toiletries and cooling essentials to the homeless, also, aid paying bills. She is definite
ly fulfilling “her call to serve”. I am honored to be a part, support and pray for this organization’s growth
to heights unknown. I believe that God will use Yolanda to do those greater things spoken of in John
14:12. where Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do;
and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to my Father.”

It is my belief that everyone has gifts and purpose which are to be used for the betterment of others. In
order to completely be who you were created to be, I recommend this age old recipe:

J— Jesus
O—Others
Y— You
